Award Categories

WCHST 2026 recognizes excellence, originality and impact across research, innovation and industry through six award categories. Review the eligibility and selection criteria below, then apply through the linked application form for each award.

1. WCHST Young Scientist Award

Recognition of an outstanding young researcher demonstrating scientific excellence, originality, research potential, and contribution to health sciences and technology.

2. WCHST Best Oral Presentation Award

Recognition of the best scientific oral presentations, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes under each WCHST congress theme.

3. WCHST Best Poster Presentation Award

Recognition of the best scientific poster presentations, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes under each WCHST congress theme.

4. WCHST Innovation Showcase Award

Recognition of an innovative research concept, technology, methodology, prototype, digital solution, healthcare intervention, or translational Innovation addressing an important health or societal challenge.

5. WCHST Industry Excellence Award

Recognition of an industry/organization demonstrating outstanding contribution to health sciences, technology, Innovation, research collaboration, or societal impact.

6. WCHST Product Innovation Award

Recognition of an outstanding developed product/prototype demonstrating novelty, technical merit, usability, and potential for commercialization or healthcare impact.

Detailed Guidelines & Selection Criteria

Purpose: The WCHST Young Scientist Award recognizes an emerging researcher who has demonstrated scientific excellence, originality, meaningful research contributions, and strong potential for future leadership in health sciences and technology.

Eligibility
  • Below 35 years of age as of 7 October 2026
  • Registered for WCHST 2026
  • Significant research contribution relevant to one or more WCHST themes
  • May be from universities, research institutes, hospitals, government organizations, industry, or other recognized institutions
  • Preferably the first author and/or presenting author of the research submitted to WCHST
  • Must be available to attend the award ceremony if shortlisted/selected

  • Abstract accepted for oral presentation
  • Presenter must personally deliver the presentation
  • Presentation must be made within the allotted time
  • Research must correspond to the assigned WCHST theme

Purpose: To recognize the most outstanding scientific poster based on scientific merit, originality, visual communication, and the presenter's ability to explain and defend the research.

  • Abstract accepted for poster presentation
  • Presenter must be present during the designated poster evaluation session
  • Poster must comply with WCHST poster specifications

Purpose: The WCHST Innovation Showcase Award recognizes an innovative research concept, technology, methodology, prototype, digital solution, healthcare intervention, or translational innovation that addresses an important health or societal challenge.

Eligibility
  • Must be registered for WCHST 2026 — via oral presentation, poster presentation, or attendee/delegate registration
  • An oral or poster presentation is not required to apply for this award
Submission Requirement

A detailed report of 2–3 A4 pages, submitted as a single PDF file through the application form.

Purpose: The WCHST Industry Excellence Award recognizes an industry or organization demonstrating outstanding contribution to health sciences, technology, innovation, research collaboration, and/or societal impact. This award recognizes the organization, rather than an individual product.

Eligibility

The organization must be either:

  • Registered for WCHST 2026, or
  • A sponsor/contributor supporting the WCHST 2026 fund
Submission Requirement

A detailed 2–3 page report, submitted as a single PDF file through the application form.

Purpose: The WCHST Product Innovation Award recognizes an outstanding developed product or prototype demonstrating novelty, technical merit, usability, and potential for commercialization or healthcare impact.

Eligibility

The applicant must be registered for WCHST 2026 through:

  • Oral presentation
  • Poster presentation
  • Attendee/delegate registration
  • A sponsor/contributor supporting the WCHST 2026 fund

The product may be developed by an individual, student, researcher, start-up, academic institution, company, or collaborative team.

Submission Requirement

A 2–3 page detailed Product Innovation Report, submitted as a single PDF file.
